About TJ Martin

I am a retired investment banker. But don’t blame me for the home mortgage crash of 2008. I never touched a mortgage. I was a victim of the economic downturn, as well, because a big, bad bank bought my smaller, wonderful bank. My reaction? Early retirement. Since this happened I’ve done much volunteer work, primarily for local nonprofits in my home of Salem, Oregon. The main thing that has made an impression on me is the importance of feeding the brain as we enter into the latter half of our lives. So I started this site to share my ideas for keeping the mind full and creating a community of people who would also share their ideas.

What do I do to keep the grey matter energized? I complete the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink every Sunday, search the internet for the answers to questions I have about everything, especially the history of words, and keep company with my wonderful cat Willie Bob. I also got my BA in psychology last year and soon will complete my MA in Professional Writing.

Won’t you please join me? =)
